Payments firm seek experienced leader for Senior Compliance position

FourthLine were approached by the compliance department of a multinational payments firm based in London.

The issue:

Having worked with FourthLine whilst at their previous company, the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer advised FourthLine to resource on their behalf when their Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager moved on to a new role outside of the Financial Services sector.

The previous occupant of the role was a highly respected leader who had successfully embedded a strong culture of compliance within the organisation. This presented a challenge when resourcing for their replacement, with sky high expectations of a similarly skilled replacement with the relevant compliance monitoring skills and necessary years of leadership experience.

The solution:

After taking the brief and understanding the client’s concerns around finding the right person for such an important role, we went to our network of expert talent and quickly drew up a shortlist of 7 candidates who were put to the client, of which 5 were interviewed.

With the hiring manager on holiday during a crucial time in the recruitment process, we took the time to ensure that the candidates remained engaged in the process and responded to any questions or concerns they had about the role, whilst using this as a further opportunity to assess their suitability for the role and cultural fit within the firm.

The final stages of the interview took place when the hiring manager returned from holiday, with an offer made to one of the candidates from our network who accepted the client’s offer.
