Our client was a general insurance provider headquartered in the South East, and a new client to FourthLine looking to enhance their risk management capabilities.
The client wanted to add a new layer of senior management to sit above an inexperienced team, and as such were looking for a Head of Risk. Finding such a senior figure was proving difficult for the client however, in part due to their location. The client had advertised the role via their internal recruitment channels, and also utilised local recruitment agencies but hadn’t been able to find someone with the relevant experience and level of seniority for the role. FourthLine approached the client with a candidate from within our network of risk expertise who they were immediately keen to meet.
Having taken on the role, we put together a more thorough list of suitable candidates which were presented to the client. As a specialist risk recruiter we were able to advise the client on the salary banding for the role to move it more in line with our experience of the insurance risk market, and had access to a pool of talent that their internal recruitment team and local agencies wouldn’t have.
In the end, the successful candidate was the original candidate that FourthLine presented to the client. We managed the candidate through a tough 5 stage interview process, ensuring that they remained engaged and focused on the process and turned down other offers. We also took the time to discuss the candidate’s career plan so they saw that this opportunity fitter better with their aspirations for the future than the other offers on the table.
Following a successful start to their time there, the candidate is now looking to relocate nearer to the client’s base. Meanwhile, the client has come to FourthLine to assist with risk recruitment requirements in other areas of the business.
