Our client is a general insurance provider based in the South East. Their Data Protection Officer had worked with FourthLine previously, and having handed in their notice recommended our services to the Company Secretary who would be hiring their replacement.
With the current DPO moving on, the client was looking for a direct replacement to come in and pick up where they left off. The client was in the process of launching a new product, and as such required a DPO with a similar commercial background in insurance. Another agency had been engaged to resource for the role, but lacked the subject matter expertise that FourthLine could bring to the assignment and didn’t put any candidates forward. As we had found when recruiting on behalf of the client for a Head of Risk, the client’s location made identifying suitable candidates quite difficult.
Having taken the brief, we began the search for data protection experts in the local area with a particular focus on insurance providers. A selection of candidates were presented to the client as part of a CV presentation call, which the hiring manager found extremely useful as it gave us an opportunity to talk through the CVs in detail and highlight the relevant commercial experience of the candidates.
Two candidates, both of whom were new candidates to FourthLine, were interviewed as part of a two-stage process. Having spoken to the departing DPO, we had a good understanding of the client’s culture and were able to help the client choose the candidate who would fit in well with their team, given their similar qualities to the outgoing DPO and excellent attitude.
