FourthLine help wrap platform find CASS expert willing to relocate

FourthLine were engaged by the Investment Administration and CASS team of a wrap platform based in Bath.

The issue:

The client was looking to identify a new CASS Team Leader following an internal promotion. However, the location of the firm posed a challenge with concerns around whether an expert with the relevant CASS expertise could be found in the local area. These concerns were heightened when the firm’s preferred supplier list failed to identify any suitable candidates.

What’s more, the client was very specific with the experience they required for the role, with a need to find somebody with exposure to CASS rules 6, 7, 8 and 10. Essentially, the only way a potential candidate could have gained the relevant experience would be to have worked at one of the firm’s main competitors.

The solution:

The client had some concerns around the salary band that they had put the role on the market at, so we were able to draw on our vast experience of the CASS market to advise on an increase in budget.

After taking the brief, we quickly started headhunting candidates with the relevant CASS knowledge, looking in the local area and beyond. Candidates were thoroughly qualified and tested to make sure they had the relevant technical knowledge and experience for the role, and were assessed in terms of how they would fit with the firm’s culture. Extra time was taken to explain the reputation of the firm and the benefits of joining such a prestigious company to candidates who would need to relocate if successful with their application.

Following a 2-stage interview process the client found the perfect candidate for the role, who in turn accepted their offer. Before accepting the deal, FourthLine took extra time with the candidate to help them map out the cost of living in the new area and identify the costs of relocation, allaying any concerns they had about the move.
