I'm working with a Fintech firm in London who are looking to identify a Senior Privacy Manager as soon as possible to join the firm as soon as possible on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the firm and ensure it is compliant with GDPR.
  • Provide support across the business reviewing, updating and developing policies and procedures.
  • Carry out DPIA's and provide advice on marketing strategies.
  • Advise on cross-border data transfers.
  • Aid the Compliance team by providing guidance on how they should handle SAR's.
  • Act as the key point of contact for Data Protection issues within the business as well as any complaints and queries from Data Subjects.
  • Provide Training and Guidance on all aspects of Data Protection & Data Privacy.



Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience of acting as a Privacy Officer.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK and European Data Privacy legal requirements.
  • Strong influencing skills and able to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Private Sector background.



Desirable:

  • Background in the Financial Services.
  • ISEB or equivalent qualification i.e. CIPP/E or CIPM.



Location: London
Salary: £70,000 - 90,000 per annum
Duration: 6 Months Fixed Term Contract - possibility of extension

FourthLine are working with one of the world's market leading Global Fintech companies who are looking for a Senior Privacy Manager to join their privacy function for a 6-month fixed term contract which is highly likely to be extended and with the possibility of going permanent.

The Role and Responsibilities

  • Support the Group Privacy Officer with the compliance of all Data Protection regulations;
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for European Data Protection Laws including GDPR and be willing to develop knowledge of Data Protection laws globally;
  • Assist the Group and Deputy Privacy Officer in meeting GDPR compliance and other global privacy laws;
  • Establishing and maintaining the company's global Data Protection compliance framework;
  • Establishing and managing Privacy Champions across group offices;
  • Providing advice on projects and to act as a key point of contact for Data Protection issues;
  • Reviewing and advising on DPA clauses in customer terms and supplier contracts.



Notable requirements and experience needed

  • Ideally 7-8 years' experience as a privacy officer from a finance, insurance or technology background;
  • Significant experience in UK & European data privacy laws and a good understanding of the GDPR and it's implications, ideally within an international organization;
  • Practical privacy experience in a private sector B2C facing company;
  • Experience working with cross border data transfers alongside cross jurisdiction experience;
  • Experience working on data privacy impact assessments;
  • Data governance and information governance experience is desirable;
  • ISEB DPA and/or IAPP CIPP qualifications, especially CIPP / E and CIPM;
  • Post graduate certification in one or more of data privacy, legal, compliance, information technology desirable;
  • Candidates with or without legal qualifications are welcome, but must have strong data privacy knowledge and experience, including a strong academic background.
