The Role

Our client, an Investment Management firm based in Edinburgh, are currently looking for Interim CASS Consultants to join their expanding CASS team to help drive significant improvements to the capacity, scalability and sustainability of their platform, and ensure the ongoing adherence to the relevant CASS rules.

You will be responsible for working closely with the CFO, CF10a, the Client Money team, back office processing (external) and other stakeholders to:

  • Help document what is happening as part of the reconciliations process for both Client Assets & Client Money (both internal & external reconciliations
  • Check if any data feeds that are incorrect or flawed – then take a lead on identifying or flagging them to be rebuilt and providing support in rebuilding them.
  • Conduct independent testing of CASS reconciliations

The Candidate

You will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Understanding of CASS rules and the regulations attached to reconciliations
  • Technical awareness and experience in working with data – and how the data supports compliance with CASS rules.
  • Experienced in using / implementing AutoRek and an understanding of how it is used for CASS reconciliations
  • Experienced working in a CASS environment, either as a CASS SME, or perhaps in a change capacity as a hybrid with experience in reconciliations
  • Strong process documentation experience
  • Vendor management experience and exposure to working with 3rd party providers
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

The role will involve ensuring Governance is in place, spotting Project trends and Stakeholder Management.

Essential skills:

  • Strong experience in the use of Excel (Pivot tables ect) as a reporting tool, as well as Sharepoint
  • Experience supporting large change Projects
  • The ability to simplify complex information to report to senior stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to work, while able to take ownership and work on their own accord
  • A knowledge of Waterfall methodology

Desirable skills (but not essential):

  • Experience working within the Financial Services sector
  • A knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Experience using JIRA or Confluence
