Would you like to be a Privacy Counsel & Deputy Data Protection Officer for a famous travel company?

This is a newly appointed opportunity for a Privacy professional to provide guidance and direction to the global business. There is a wider Legal and Compliance leadership team that continues to build a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation and they would like this hire to join their ongoing vision.

The day and the life of the chosen professional..

  • Draft and update Data Privacy policies, procedures, processes and controls in line with laws and regulations (such as GDPR and PECR).
  • Advise on the Data Privacy Impact Assessment process and complete where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and direction in relation to data processing, Subject Access Requests, breach management and responses.
  • Interact with the entire business to advise, liaise and record new or changed processing activities.
  • Develop, update and deliver Privacy Compliance training and awareness across the business.
  • Coordinate with IT and Information Security to produce and deliver security assessments that mitigate the data risks.
  • Act as the point of contact with the regulators, suppliers and third-parties to ensure there is a sound Privacy action plan across all points of the business.

What you shall need..

  • Exceptional experience in a large law firm, corporate legal department or compliance function, with significant experience in privacy matters.
  • Legal qualification of some degree.
  • Fluency in information technologies and an understanding of data security.
  • The ability to promote a data protection culture within the organisation.
  • Experience advising clients on the privacy implications of social media, cloud based services, and global marketing campaigns that leverage mobile platforms.
  • Ability to react quickly and confidently to advise and manage a data breach incident and subject access requests.
  • Strong capability to communicate with data subjects and cooperate with supervisory authorities.
