FourthLine are currently supporting a leading Technology company in their search for an Interim Data Protection Officer.

Job purpose:

The Interim-DPO is tasked with monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, our data protection policies, awareness-raising, training and audits.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a contact point for the ICO and any other supervisory authorities.
  • Report risks and data breaches to senior management and, where appropriate to the supervisory authority.
  • Assess and advise on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Develop a risk management framework and work with the Development, Product and Security teams to ensure the right technology is developed and deployed.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection and privacy legislation and the company’s related policies.
  • Work with the General Counsel on data protection strategy worldwide and assistance on global budget for GDPR and E-Privacy.
  • Assist the Security Manager in ensuring business assets containing personal data are identified, managed and are subject to controls.
  • Inform and advise the business on changes of legislation.
  • Create and maintain privacy policies and procedures.
  • Manage a program of awareness-raising and training to develop a data privacy culture
  • Handle internal and external queries in relation to data protection investigations and practices, withdrawal of consent, right to be forgotten and other data subject rights.
  • Assist the Security Manager in maintaining, reviewing and monitoring information security policies and procedures in line with ISO 27001.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • GDPR and e-Privacy certified and expert knowledge of global and national data protection laws and practices.
  • Confidence in advising on the new legislation.
  • Drafting data protection policies including privacy policy, cookie policy and assessment of controller and processor status and the impact of GDPR on Ve’s need for consent.
  • Experience in a compliance role.
  • Knowledge of Information and Cyber security risks and information security standards.
  • Extensive background in data privacy in creating initiatives and procedures around data breaches and working with stakeholders across the business to create, maintain and develop new strategies to assist the business in its every day activities.
  • Experience conducting audits.
  • Experience in ISO 27001 certification.
  • Ideally the candidate will have experience in the ad tech industry.

FourthLine are currently working on an exciting role for an In-House Counsel to join our Railways Support client based in London. The successful candidate will be hired on a permanent basis, salary dependent on experience.
Joining the organisation as an In-House Counsel, you will be the right hand to the Head of Legal for the company.
Some of the main responsibilities of the role are the following:

  • Drafting, reviewing & negotiating commercial and IT contracts
  • Engaging with suppliers and partners, including working with internal teams with regards to marketing and GDPR
  • General legal work and providing advice to members of the wider business.


The ideal person will have:

  • 5 years PQE (this is a guide, applications from other levels will be considered if you are able to demonstrate the necessary skills)

I'm working with a Financial Services firm based in London who are looking to identify a Senior Privacy Analyst to join the firm as soon as possible on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Pensions lawyer to join the In-House legal team of an independent investigative organisation.

The role will be for a Lead lawyer to join the existing legal team, which acts as primary legal advisers to all staff including the Executive Board. The key purpose of the role is to support the company to exercise its functions in accordance with the relevant laws, policies and practices, with an emphasis on policy work.
The Lead Lawyer will need to have management experience including mentoring and coaching skills, as they will be involved in overseeing a team.

The role will include:

The Person would be:

  • Have recent experience in pensions, litigation, disputes resolution, regulatory law (preferably financial services regulation) or public law.
