This is a newly appointed opportunity for a Privacy professional to provide guidance and direction to a specialist retailer.

There is a leadership team that has been working hard to build a strong compliance culture and now they would like to welcome a Group Data Protection Officer to join their omni-channel business venture where data is at the forefront of their journey.

The company are always seeking to improve the customer experience in the fast paced world of retail and with this there is a need for an innovative Group Data Protection Officer to join the team.

The day and the life of the chosen professional..

  • Act as a business partner to all those that need the support with Data Protection matters and provide advise in line with the GDPR and PECR.
  • Advise and assist the marketing to ensure they are innovative and compliant.
  • Create and update policies and procedures to ensure the Group is compliant with the law to best practice.
  • Conduct data protection audits on new and existing third party suppliers.
  • Carry out Privacy Impact Assessments on the Group's projects involving personal data.
  • Provide training and awareness to colleagues across the Group.
  • Completion of the end to end Subject Access Request process.
  • Review commercial agreements whereby personal data is shared or received by third parties and ensure this is compliant with GDPR.
  • Advise on data transfers; negotiate and draft data processor agreements.
  • Handling of some IT contracts and other commercial issues.

What you shall need..

  • Excellent technical and legal skills from a strong commercial background.
  • A number of years experience in Data Protection whether from private practice or an in-house position.
  • Experience working in a fast paced organisation where you have to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact, adapt and build relationships with teams across the business.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK data protection law, GDPR and PECR to work autonomously and enthusiasm to share this expertise with the business.
  • Experience as a Privacy mentor to deliver training and support to the Group.

Information Security - Manchester

I'm working with a leading Financial Services firm who are looking to identify a highly experienced Information Security professional to join on a permanent basis.


Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the Projects and Change team as opposed to BAU, ensuring Information Security processes are followed.
  • Highlighting the risks involved within change projects i.e. what are the Information Security risks when integrating legacy, new and cloud-based systems.
  • Conduct multiple Risk & Control Assessments including Supplier Due Diligence and Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Commission Pen Testing, analyse the results and ensure remedial action is taken.
  • Take a consultative approach to Information Security, advising the business on best practices.



Essential:

  • 5 years' experience within Information / IT Security.
  • CISSP qualification (or ability to gain this).
  • Can multitask and manage an ever-changing project workflow.
  • Able to make difficult decisions effectively.
  • Acted as a Lead or Managed a team.
  • Experienced engaging with all levels of the business including Senior Stakeholders.



Desired:

  • Banking background or background in a regulated environment.
