This is an exciting opportunity for a Pensions lawyer to join the In-House legal team of an independent investigative organisation.

The role will be for a Lead lawyer to join the existing legal team, which acts as primary legal advisers to all staff including the Executive Board. The key purpose of the role is to support the company to exercise its functions in accordance with the relevant laws, policies and practices, with an emphasis on policy work.
The Lead Lawyer will need to have management experience including mentoring and coaching skills, as they will be involved in overseeing a team.

The role will include:
  • Reviewing & supervising on legal cases, ensuring policies are followed and decisions reached whilst ensuring sound legal analysis.
  • Assist with reviewing and drafting other correspondence for staff, some of which could include correspondence to Members of Parliament and regulatory bodies.
  • Draft and review documents for the Executive Board
  • Advise and make recommendations for internal policies, including; legislative changes, data protection act issues, responding to consultation papers
  • Mentor and coach other lawyers, helping to develop their skills and increase their confidence in decision making.
  • Ensure High standards of client care

The Person would be:
  • Educated to degree level
  • At least 4 years PQE
  • Have recent experience in pensions, litigation, disputes resolution, regulatory law (preferably financial services regulation) or public law.
  • Management Experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to draft and edit documents to a high standard, adapting the tone and presentation of documents in a manner that is well suited to its purpose and audience.
