Information Governance Officer

£36000 - £37000 per annum

One of the nation's most recognisable social charities are looking to hire their next Information Governance Officer across either West Midlands, Merseyside, Central London or West Yorkshire to provide a high-level of internal data protection and wider IG guidance.

With fantastic working from home options and paying around £36,000 (& £40,000 for Central London), this role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to provide all internal business functions on the DPA 2018 & the GDPR as well as advise on any other general information compliance matters.

A day in the life of:

  • Support local organisations with the guidance they need in order to become and remain compliant with the DPA 2018 and GDPR;
  • Mitigate any privacy risks to the charity including reviewing their contracts, asset registers and documentation and gain an understanding of their data sharing agreements;
  • Support the creation and implementation of a robust IG framework for local organisations to adhere to and provide training materials and awareness on GDPR and good privacy working practices;
  • Work toward ensuring their current policies and procedures and robust whilst making any necessary amendments needed;
  • Engage with the stakeholders and senior management team presenting on any potential risks to information security and provide expert guidance & training materials.

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

  • A proven length of experience advising on the DPA 2018 or the GDPR, or implementing the GDPR into an organisation;
  • Great communication skills and is confident working effectively with various teams and team members at all levels;
  • A detailed understanding of the GDPR and the DPA 2018 to a high-level;
  • Experience of delivering training and can demonstrate good records management practices.
