Job Title: Compliance Monitoring Manager
Reporting To: Head of Compliance Monitoring
Department: Compliance Monitoring
Division: Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs
Location: London, Tower Place East

Job Purpose

To support, and occasionally lead, risk-based Compliance Monitoring reviews across Marsh Ltd. To provide independent assurance to the Audit Committee and local management regarding the operation of regulatory controls.

Main Responsibilities

Management of Compliance Monitoring Reviews
• Has a complete understanding of the processes and competencies required to complete a Compliance Monitoring review

• Takes direction during complex reviews and leads less complex reviews, taking responsibility for the review to ensure that they are delivered to the expected quality within the agreed time-frame with only minimal oversight

• Clarifies roles and responsibilities with the review sponsor and agrees review scope, timetable for implementation and approach for less-complex reviews

• Plans effectively to ensure Monitoring reviews are delivered within the agreed timetable

• Makes constructive proposals to improve the effectiveness of the Compliance Monitoring review process

Reporting
• Prepares Monitoring reports to specified standards including format, style and timeliness with the need for only minimal changes

• Achieves buy-in and agreement from the sponsor and implementation of report items

• Liaises with business areas to identify risks and plan/design monitoring assessments in less complex reviews

• Demonstrates networking skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders

• Possesses and demonstrates influencing, persuasion and negotiating skills to ensure that management actions resulting from reviews are acted upon

• Reports to management on progress versus plan, status of outstanding monitoring issues and breach resolution

• Presents with confidence to business-area contacts

• Assists in producing Monitoring reviews that help to improve the control environment and are perceived by the business area as adding value

• Provides assistance to more junior members of the team to provide training, support and guidance

• Embraces responsibility for allocated tasks

• Acts as a role model for good performance to other Compliance Monitoring Managers

• 3+ years’ experience of operating in a Compliance department in the UK regulatory environment with monitoring experience
