This is a brand new role for a data protection professional to join a leading law firm as the manager that governs data for the global business.


The Data Protection Manager will be part of the in-house operations that drive forward the firms data management policies, procedures and standards.


Day to day of the role..

  • Develop and maintain data protection standards that ensures the confidentiality of company and client data.
  • Report on these standards to ensure firmwide compliance with the regulations.
  • Educate colleagues across the business on the importance of good working practice in relation to data protection.
  • Develop an action plan in the event of a data breach and train colleagues on how to react to if an actual breach takes place.
  • Work alongside the privacy champions so they understand their responsibilities as the department leads.


Your experience..

  • Strong knowledge and working practices of data protection practices, approaches and toolkits in a working environment.
  • Someone that is proactive to learn more about the regulation so you can keep the firm up to scratch with changes to data privacy laws and policies.
  • Prior experience advising on best practice and providing recommendations.
  • Project or change management experience is desirable.
  • Experience raising awareness and training members of staff in line with the regulation.
  • Strong experience drafting data protection policies, technology provisions and outsourcing agreements.

Data Protection Manager

A fulfilling and lifechanging charity are looking for their new Data Protection Manager with the interest of easing them into the statuary DPO role.

This role, based near Kensington in West London, is looking for a data protection subject matter expert to manage the charity's data protection compliance activities and provide high-level data protection advice. This role is a 12 month FTC but is very likely to be signed off as permanent before the FTC is completed.

A day in the life in this role:

  • Host any privacy training and GDPR awareness courses for the staff and volunteers;
  • Either act as the DPO or train toward becoming comfortable in the statuary DPO role;
  • Carry out any incoming information requests;
  • Provide detailed and understandable advice to the staff and volunteers on how best to handle information;
  • Assist with data protection and compliance audits internally;
  • To review and update any internal policies & procedures and ensure all documentation and contracts are compliant.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Feel comfortable being considered an organisation's data privacy subject matter expert;
  • Be able to communicate and translate the complexities of the GDPR to all levels of staff and volunteers associated with the charity;
  • Enjoy putting themselves into different teams across the business and demonstrating best privacy working practices;
  • Have charity/not-for-profit experience;
  • Have demonstrable working experience of implementing GDPR into an organisation and advising on Data Protection;
  • Have delivered privacy and GDPR training.

Information Governance Manager

An award-winning Healthcare organisation based in City of London are looking to bring on a new Information Governance Manager.

Paying up to £60,000, the role will be responsible for all Information Governance and Data Protection activities throughout the organisation whilst assuming management of the IG committee.
