We are working with a global law firm that are looking to build out there in-house team of data protection lawyers.
This leader in the law field are looking for someone with solid experience advising on data protection in a commercial environment.
What a week with the firm will look like:
- Assist, deal with and respond to Subject Access Requests.
- Assist and role out Data Privacy Impact Assessments across the business when applicable.
- Assist with breaches to notify and respond to incidents.
- Review and advise on data protection terms in supply contracts and terms of engagement with clients.
- Providing data protection input on client questionnaires and bids.
- Working with key stakeholders on data protection aspects of the firm's projects and procurement.
- Help prepare the firm for data protection issues arising from Brexit and for the new e-Privacy Regulation.
- Develop training materials and assist with training.
- Supporting the firm's network of Privacy Champions.
- Provide appropriate advice on data protection law as it impacts the firm's activities and business operations.
- Research key requirements of data protection law applicable to offices of the firm operating outside the UK and liaise with external advisors.
- Manage audits of data protection compliance within the firm, of suppliers and from clients and identifying actions necessary for remediation.
Most import experience for this role:
- Solid experience advising on data protection in a commercial environment.
- Law degree and practising certificate.
- ISEB Certificate or other qualification in data protection.
- Ability to take responsibility and act autonomously.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects.
- Ability to work in a team and with partners or directors in the business.
