Data Protection Lead

A well renowned, leading charity based in Central London are looking for to bring in a Data Protection Lead to steer their data privacy function. As well as coaching and developing their Data Protection Assistant, you will be become a privacy focused hub throughout the organisation handling all the core data protection activities. You will be given the opportunity to: Coordinate the charity’s privacy function; Develop and mentor the Data Protection Assistant and provide them with training, guidance and supporting their development; Become the go-to data protection subject matter expert throughout the charity; Can translate the technical points around GDPR, DPA and other regulatory compliance to their members, volunteers and any incoming queries who may not initially understand or be aware of; Lead and/or sign off any privacy training to the company and help devise relevant, and engaging privacy training; Liaise with all areas of the business, such as Legal and HR, to implement the required changes to policies, procedures and culture necessary to achieve and maintain compliance; The ideal candidate will have: Experience to a good level on GDPR, PECR and the DPA 1998/2018; Experience in project managing, preferably performing a data mapping project; Previous experience working in the charity sector and with volunteers.

Data Protection Manager

This role, based near Kensington in West London, is looking for a data protection subject matter expert to manage the charity’s data protection compliance activities and provide high-level data protection advice. A day in the life in this role: Host any privacy training and GDPR awareness courses for the staff and volunteers; Either act as the DPO or train toward becoming comfortable in the statuary DPO role; Carry out any incoming information requests; Provide detailed and understandable advice to the staff and volunteers on how best to handle information; Assist with data protection and compliance audits internally; To review and update any internal policies & procedures and ensure all documentation and contracts are compliant.
