The Challenge


A large Consulting firm searched for over a year to acquire two key IT Audit and Information Security hires as their generic suppliers were unsuccessful in identifying any suitable candidates with relevant experience. They engaged FourthLine as a specialist provider and we were confident our ‘built on knowledge’ approach and extensive candidate capability would deliver where others failed.

Service

We met with the firm at their offices to gain a deeper understanding of the requirements and why they had previously struggled with the placements. The client opted for our Permanent Contingent service as they wanted to ensure a reliable and timely placement. They first challenged us with the IT Audit role as this required a rarer skillset.

Approach

  • Through our initial comprehensive questioning, we identified and gained a clear understanding of the job specification, enabling us to search for the best candidates, eliminating risks to time and costs.
  • Our service operates on a basis which places all delivery risk on us, there is no upfront cost commitment as fees are only generated if we make a successful placement. Therefore we guarantee a thorough qualification of our clients’ needs and transparency throughout.
  • We utilised our Core Competency Framework (CCF) tool which has been developed through research and analyse into our focus disciplines via in-depth interviews and surveys with industry experts to identify skills and behaviours expected from the top 20% of IT Audit & Information Security talent. These include; understanding of Information Security frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI - DSS, ITIL, COBIT), blend of consulting and industry career history and collaborative.

Results

We presented 3 trusted associates via conference call - here we could delve deeper into the candidates’ profiles, touching on soft skills and peer-assessment results.

We led the interview process, ensuring our candidates were prepared and well equipped in demonstrating their knowledge and expertise resulting in an offer from the client. The entire assignment took place across a 4 week period.

Once completed, we continued work on the Information Security role using the same succesfful process.
